My boyfriend (and baby daddy) only wants to name our child extremely ghetto names?!?

How can I convince him otherwise? Some of them are nice, but some of them are names that look like he made up taking random letters out of the alphabet to make a name. What do I say to make him broaden his view point?

tell him that when your children are all grown up and they are going for job interviews they would not get hired because of their ghetto names.
Reply:I wouldn't listen to

"i had this problem with my bf but with extremely spanish names that were hard to pronounce

just keep throwing suggestions at him

thats what i did...worked :]"

Because she ended up naming her kid Diego.

You should just tell him you don't want your kid to have a ghetto name.
Reply:Our avatars are identical!

And you must tell him the importance of giving your child a normal name. A ghetto name will only make life harder for your child. Who do you think is more likely to get the job "Samantha" or "Shaquona"?

These are things to think about when you give your child their name which is going to be their identity for their life. Good luck and congrats mom 2 be!!
Reply:The scenario thing is a good idea. That's how I named my kids. I gave examples of how their names would sound in different situations. I am definitely not racist but I think names like "rayshondalynn" are just ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with being different, but somewhere the line needs to be drawn. For the kids sake.
Reply:a "baby daddy" with a list of ghetto names... oh my...

anyways, you should just say that you should BOTH agree on the name, or it's a no go. that's fair to you both, and hopefully to your little one as well.
Reply:Tell him what sorts of problems that the child will have with weird names:

No friends

Laughed at

Bullied ectra ectra.

Then mention that if they are really long EG(Bhavaneesh) Old skool mate Btw.The child will have difficulties with learning how to spell it!
Reply:Meet him in the middle. Choose a nice, normal name, then let him spell it with a few apostrophes and some creative spellings!

Reply:Just explain to him how you feel about the names he is picking and suggest some names that you have picked..
Reply:Have you tried outlining some scenarios which could make your kid's life more difficult because of a weird name?
Reply:suggest different names that you think you will both like

good luck!!
