Am I the only one whose sick of cliche/trendy, ghetto trash and hippie names?

I know I'm alone on this website (I think?) but I like classic pretty feminine or as you call "old-fashioned names". I personally prefer names like Ella, Lucy, Lena, Susie, Sara and Betty as opposed to names like Madison, Taylor, Skye, Rainbow, Brooklyn, Laquasha and Dakota. AND HOW MANY MORE ASHLEYS AND BRITNEYS DO WE NEED!!!??? How dare people make fun of my taste in names just because they're not in a certain random list of 10 names that everyones using right now and if anyone dare name their kid a name they pick because it they actually like the name and not because everyone else is naming their kid that. It's not like it's Moon Unit or Taekwon. Keep in mind that no names are really "old-fashioned" , they're immortal because names are cyclical. Someday Ella and Betty will be in style again and Ashley and Britney will be made fun of.

Also what's up with all these stupid "new age" spellings like Aleesha, Jahsmyne, Teenah, and Traycee? Yeesh!

Am I the only one whose sick of cliche/trendy, ghetto trash and hippie names?
sounds like somebody's got some issues with somebody lol...yeah i agree to a point ...your names are just as vaild as any other "new" or "hip" name out there, but doesnt mean you can go and bash other just because somebody or the websites are bashing your good names.

my name is brittiny and i hate it too many of us lol...but its spelt differntly though...but i understand where your coming from too.
Reply:oh thank god! i thought m the only one.. spot on for those new age names.. what r those anyway?? i think it happens everywhere.. even here in asia.. but then again.. people have their own opinion.. so i guess we just have to live w/ it..

p/s : my real name is nuthin new age..nor cliche ;)
Reply:I think any name is OK , as long as it doesn't make life diffucult for a child.

Note: The car Mercedes was named after Benz's daughter Mercedes, so Mercedes really is a name!
Reply:Nope, my husband's cousin named her baby girl Nevaeh (heaven spelled backwards). Which I guess is another trendy thing to do. Of course, I have no clue how to pronounce the child's name, nor will her teachers in school in a few years, I imagine.

Personally, I think getting "creative" with a child's name is cruel. A name is a very precious thing, you sure don't want to set your child up for a lifetime of either having to constantly spell their name, or pronounce it for others, or being ridiculed for it.
Reply:Some of the new names are nice but i prefer old fashion names myself. I think it will make it easier in life (especially career wise) if you have a name that everyone can pronounce with a straight spelling.
Reply:After all of that I hope that you feel much better to have gotten that off your mind.
Reply:i m with you i like biblical names best
Reply:I'm against people naming there kids after places and cars so Brooklyn and Mercedes and stuff like that that is ignorant
