Ghetto names?
It's only ghetto if black people have it. there names that sound more African than American. Even eventually Asians will do the same when they want to rekindle their culture. They'll stop naming their kids Patricia, Linda, and Joy. And start naming them Li Chin Cho and Bing-Lee.
Reply:Those are really significant names. I guess they all have a story behind them. Ghetto or not, everyone's name is special and mean a lot to them personally. I don't think they are, because for some reason, they are always quite perculiar and names like Chantalle (made up on the spot, pronouced shon-ta-elle) don't really make an impact. My thoughts, though!
Reply:haha good question!

girl- Lakwanza, Shaquiqui, Tameesha, Nyshundai(ni-shun-day), Lakweshia, Janiquanda, Taquina, T'zakina, Janiqua, BonQuiQui...

Boy- Tyrone, Antwon, Leroy, Jamaal Z'akari...

I'm not racist because I know that white ppl are ghetto all the time...
Reply:its not just "ghetto" names that are made up. all different races have different sounding names. but a lot do make their names up. but theres nothing wrong with it, its called being unique. and try using any term other than ghetto. except for the N word.
Reply:Its called creativity. LOL. I think it's because black people have this thing where anything thats easy to pronounce, especially with an accent, is a good name. My middle name is LaShaun. And as far as i know, that was made up too.
Reply:I guess African Americans want to be creative with naming their kids! I personally don't like those type of names through

my name(Chanel) is very diverse cuz White, Black, Hispanic, and Asian have my name!

=]
Reply:What makes them "ghetto?" Maybe they're just "unique"...Just because they're different doesn't necessarily make them ghetto. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Reply:There not "ghetto" The are different names than them white names. Yeah there not "professional" but they are not common as John and Greg. It shows personality.
Reply:rasputia? damn...would someone really name her daughter that?

Yes a lot of times the names are made up because they want them to sound "unique" although some of them do have meanings.
