Definately!!!!! Oh my god my ex best friend did this to FOUR helpless children....





When they grow up they would have a hard time getting anyone to take them seriously.....

I think what you consider "ghetto" other people consider creative.





When it comes to society and acceptance, the majority is not always correct, so if some chooses to judge a child by their name rather than their character, that speaks to that persons ignorance and not the "selfishness" of the child's parents.
Reply:No, not selfish, but LAZY. You should be able to tell your child the origin of his her name one day, and sounding like your favorite drink or car is not a good story.





Also, taking any everyday word and slapping AVION or ARIOUS at the end and LA, SH, TA or DE at the beginning doesn't count for originality.
Reply:I don't think so it all, you know white, latino and black ghetto placess with the name such as......................................... be for us sound ghetto, but it's parents choice name a child certain name. In my opinion, at school nobody should make fun of a child because of the name.


You know Arabic, Chinese, Indian and African names for our society sounds so funny, but nobody should make fun of their names because in their culture their names doesn't sound funny, but in opposite honourable.


So think about it and take your point of view on this subject because as you may hear Arab, Chines and Indian names sound really funny, but nobody makes fun of them.

And yeah, either selfish or oblivious to the fact that the kid will be teased to death about the name. Unless of course his/her peers have equally "ghetto" names.
Reply:It isn't necessarily a "racist" or race based thing. Whites doe this too. Making up stupid names just to be different is not unique to black folks for anybody who thinks so.





"Hillbilly chic" can get pretty out of control too.





But yeah it is stupid and selfish as all hell.
Reply:This is a hard one! Yes and No! The name just might be cute to the mom! but none of us had a choice of our names at birth! Now days you cant tell if the name is ghetto or proper!! Meaning what race it is!!
Reply:Yes, have you considered how it will sound on a job application? A name is for life, unless the person as an adult can afford the legal process of a name change.
Reply:what do you mean by ghetto names, you mean like antitiknikqua or something like that? I thinks its embarrassing to name your child a name like that.
Reply:even though I don't like some of the crazy names that you might be talking about, I think people really need to focus on the racist (yes I said racist) who discriminate against people with certain names, instead of giving them a free pass
