Is it true that people with trashy names or ghetto names, or faddish names don't get hired for good jobs?

I heard about a study where people predended their names were "Brandy" or "Cody" or "Vegan" or "Shaneequa" and other stupid names like that. They put these horrible names on resumes along with otherwise good qualifications.

They send almost identical resumes with good, classic, sensible names, and these people were called far more often for interviews.

I can't remember where I read this though. Where can i find out more about this?

It sounds VERY True.....

I believe it!
Reply:Employers are looking for people they feel comfortable with and trust. Its stinks to think people dont see the person inside rather than out. But the truth is first impressions are super important and people, although it may not be right see someone with a nosering or one of the names listed above and have an immediate bias. Whereas if they saw John Smith or Jennifer Jones it is different. Parents do not do there kids a favor by naming them after a cutesy person on TV.
Reply:I've never had a problem

Reply:somtimes it just depends on the job!!! some people r crazy to judge you by your name.... but others dont really care!!!
Reply:i think it might be if the name is difficult to pronounce
