My daughters name is Sore'Re and is her name ghetto?

I think the name is pretty. If you and the father like it, who cares if it's 'ghetto'? Soiree is a french word ( I would think originally) and it's a kind of party held in the evening with tea and cakes. Personally I love the meaning!

My daughters name is Sore'Re and is her name ghetto?
Yea its Ghetto! Report Abuse

Reply:Ghetto and that kid is going to have problems with that name all her life.

Why ask questions when you aren't ready to hear the answers?

Maybe take some spelling lessons before you bring children into this world.
Reply:how do you say it?

Swa-Ray= not ghetto

Saurr-Ay = not ghettp
Reply:Extremely. Apostrophes + capital letters anywhere else than the beginning of the name = yells ghetto. And 'sore'? Baby names should be thought over and over again before committing oneself. I'm sorry but I don't think that's a very good name.
Reply:Extremely and I'm sure you must be kidding.

Sore'Re = Sore Ray? / Sore'Re = Sore Ree?

Why would you name your child anything with Sore in it?
Reply:yes, very ghetto.
Reply:it's an awful name. Sounds like sorry. andplus you have the word sore in there (like everyone else said). How much thought did you put in the name before you gave it to her?
Reply:That poor kid. It must either be pronouced with "sore" or "sorry"....why would you name your kid that? "Mommy, did you name me sorry because you didn't want me??" "Mommy, do I make you sore?" Yeah nice.
Reply:Yes, its a pretty name still. But tbh I do think its ghetto.
Reply:IS THAT A FIRST AND MIDDLE NAME?why would it be ghetto, besides if you and dad like it that's all that matters=D
Reply:of course it's ghetto! i think you knew the ans the min you had to consider if it is. it's your daughter and she will most likely change her name in the future because she'll wonder why no one is even paying any attention to her resume! she will probably have to work harder to earn respect from others because the first asumtion is .. she's just another ghetto kid! plus it looks like you would pronounce it "sorry" not soiree.. if i were you i'd at least legally change it and not to soiree... because it means evening party (not much of a meaning) there are alot of pretty names that you could make up that don't need an apostrope in the middle or Le as a prefix! which immediately spell ghetto!
Reply:Does ghetto mean "stupid" or "something her mother made up to draw attention to herself without any concern for the grown-up who will have to live with that name"? If yes, then yes.
Reply:A mix of "sore" and "sorry" is not a pretty name. It may well be ghetto, whatever that means.
Reply:Sorry?, awful and grim...
Reply:Opinion: I think the name is trying-too-hard-to-be-different. Her name contains the word "sore" so that's not good. If you really like it so much, then consider changing it to the actual proper spelling (without the word "sore" in it). The actual French spelling is "soiree", meaning an evening party.
Reply:Uh..........Why would you name her Sore'Re?

cuz then the kids will make fun of her and call her Sore, or Eyesore or some other cruel name. You should just change her name in order for her not to be teased.
Reply:what do u mean???
Reply:Its an eye SORE imo

sorry
Reply:It depends on how you pronounce it. Is it pronounced 'Sore-ree'? Or like a party? 'Swore-ay'?
Reply:no it sounds pretty
