Is LaKendra A Ghetto Name?

I think it is.

Is LaKendra A Ghetto Name?
Yes. The "La" in front of it definitely gives it a ghetto ring, although Kendra on its own is not "ghetto."
Reply:well i just posted a answer to a person who wanted to know about naming a baby LaKendra and asking Nicknames. I dont think it is ghetto per say, but i think that its one of those names that has a La or Ra or Nae or something added to a normal name. I love the name Kendra and I think it is pretty ennough by itself without having the added part you think is ghetto. I like your name like it is! If you were going to change it at all, just drop the La and make it Kendra Ciara!
Reply:Go by whatever name makes you feel most comfortable, but formerly "ghetto" names are becoming mainstream along with ghetto fabulousness. When people think of preppy and the Hamptons they immediately reference P. Diddy, then Martha Stewart. Black %26amp; White alike.





And when you're cool and popular a name like that just makes you stand out in a good way. Look at Aisha Tyler. Let's redefine stereotypes.

Why not just go by "Kendra" if you feel your name is too "ghetto"?
Reply:umm, I guess I'm not a fan of names that do the La_____ thing. I love the name Kendra, though, so yea. I love the name Ciara, it was one of my best friends names, and Ciara is such a better spelling then Sierra. :)
Reply:It's a nice name. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. My name is Latasha and I like it just fine. I don't think your name make the person you are. It's you who make the person you are. Be proud of what your mother named you.
